Women in the Prison Service of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá působením žen ve Vězeňské službě České republiky. Práce je konkrétně zaměřena na ženy ve služebním poměru a jejich postavení u tohoto bezpečnostního sboru. V teoretické části jsou definovány základní pojmy související s rovností a je poukázáno na postavení mužů a žen ve společnosti. V následujících kapitolách analyzuji rovné příležitosti žen a mužů na trhu práce v České republice a žen ve služebním poměru u ozbrojeného bezpečnostního sboru Vězeňské služby ČR, konkrétně v oblasti náboru, odměňování a kariérním růstu. Pozornost je také věnována rovnosti mužů a žen zakotvené v právním rámci ČR a charakteristice Vězeňské služby ČR. Výsledková část má za úkol zjistit, zda jsou ženy v rovném postavení jako muži u tohoto sboru a zjistit možnou existenci genderových stereotypů. V závěru práce jsou zhodnoceny a shrnuty výsledky výzkumného souboru.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the influence of women in the Prison Service of the Czech Republic. The work is specifically focused on women in service and their position in the security corps. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to equality and points out the position of men and women in society. In the following chapters I analyze equal opportunities of women and men in the labor market in the Czech Republic and women in service with the Armed Security Corps of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, namely in the area of recruitment, remuneration and career growth. Attention is also paid to equality of men and women enshrined in the legal framework of the Czech Republic and characteristics of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic. The result part is to find out whether women are equal to men in this Corps and the possible existence of gender stereotypes. At the end of the thesis, the results of the research file are evaluated and summarized.
