Model of deliberative democracy by J. Cohen

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Model deliberativní demokracie u Joshuy Cohena je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část, a zabývá se především přehledem teorie demokracie a jejího deliberativního pojetí. V teoretické části se autorka bude zabývat stručnými dějinami teorie demokracie v podání nejvýznamnějších myslitelů. Navazovat bude kapitola se systematickým výkladem teoretických východisek deliberativní demokracie, kdy budou představeny teorie autorů Habermase a Rawlse. Stěžejní částí práce je výklad Cohenovy teorie a její srovnání s dvěma předchozími autory. V poslední části práce budou stručně představeny lokální i zahraniční projekty aplikace deliberativních prvků. Také zde budou vyloženy prvky deliberativní demokracie, které budou zkoumány, zda jsou přítomny v Jednacím řádu zastupitelstva města Mšena, a v jaké míře.

Abstract:

The thesis entitled Model of Deliberative Democracy by Joshua Cohen is divided into theoretical and practical part and deals mainly with the theory of democracy and its deliberative concept. In the theoretical part the author will deal with a brief history of the theory of democracy by the most important thinkers. There will be a chapter with a systematic interpretation of the theoretical basis of deliberative democracy, when the theories of the authors Habermas and Rawls will be introduced. The main part of the thesis is the interpretation of Cohen's theory and its comparison with the two previous authors. In the last part of the thesis, local and foreign projects of application of deliberative elements will be briefly introduced. Here too, the elements of deliberative democracy will be explored to see if they are present in the Rules of Procedure of the City Hall in Mšeno and to what extent.
