Stereofonietta by Milan Báchorek in the context of period creation of spatial compositions

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce je zevrubná analýza vokálně-instrumentálního díla soudobého ostravského skladatele Milana Báchorka – Stereofonietty. Tato skladba pro soprán, baryton, bicí nástroje, varhany a dva orchestry, složena na lyrické milostné verše bulharského básníka Vatjo Rakovského, tvoří spolu s díly Lidice a Hukvaldská poema volnou vokálně-instrumentální trilogii, která stojí v popředí skladatelovy tvorby. Ambicí této práce je především poukázat na kontinuitu využití prostoru v hudbě 20. století, a to prostřednictvím analytických vhledů do vybraných stěžejních prostorových kompozic skladatelů evropského, polského i českého prostředí. Vlivem nepropustnosti totalitního režimu byl na konci 70. let kontakt se západní hudbou velmi problematický a otázka významu tohoto ojedinělého druhu kompozice s využitím kompozičních prostředků užívaných v evropském kontextu již v 1. polovině 20. století (prostorovost, serialita, sonorita, aleatorika atd.) je proto v českém prostředí opodstatněná. Charakteristika skladatelova tehdejšího kompozičního stylu jsou spolu s přihlédnutím k vlivům utvářejícím jeho hudební jazyk rovněž záměrem této práce.

Abstract:

The subject of the thesis is to thoroughly analyse the vocal-intrumental composition by the contemporary composer from Ostrava Milan Báchorek called Stereofonietta. The composition for soprano, baritone, percussions, organs and two orchestras, based on the lyrical lines by the Bulgarian poet Vatja Rakovski, together with compositions Lidice and Hukvaldy Poem create a vocal-instrumental trilogy standing at the forefront of the composer‘s work. The ambition of the thesis it to refer to the continuity of space exploitation within music of the 20. century through analytical insights to the chosen crucial spatial compositions by the European, Polish and Czech composers. Due to the impermeability of a totalitarian regime, contact with western music was very problematic in the end of 1970s. Question of the unique type of composition using compositional means as spatiality, seriality, sonority, aleatorics etc. that had already been usual in the first half of the 20. century in the European context, is therefore well-founded in the Czech context. Characteristic of the composer’s then compositional style regarding the influences creating his own musical language is the intention of the thesis as well.
