Literature review: Transforming organizations into self-managing organizations

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá transformací společností z tradiční manažerské hierarchie směrem k self-managementu. Hlavním cílem této práce je popsat přechod z tradiční hierarchické struktury ke struktuře nehierarchické a identifikovat efekty s ním spojené. Dnešní dynamická doba vyžaduje neustálé inovace, což pro hierarchické organizace představuje silnou výzvu. Mnoha problémům čelí především kvůli své rigiditě a složitým procesům. K udržení kroku s pružným globálním trhem pracovních sil, výroby a obchodu potřebuje nové flexibilní nástroje řízení. Self-managing organizace se snaží na tento rychlý pohyb a nové potřeby reagovat. V diplomové práci identifikuji možnosti spojené s touto transformací, její formy a efekty. Použiji metody systematické rešerše literatury. Několik světově známých společností již transformací prošlo, proto součástí této práce bude popis jejich konkrétních přístupů a praxe.

Abstract:

The master´s thesis deals with the transformation of companies from the traditional management hierarchy towards self-management. The main aim of this paper is to describe such a transformation and identify the effects associated with it. Today's time is very dynamic and demanding for continuous innovation and adaptation to the competitive environment. This is a difficult challenge for the traditional hierarchical structure. Because of its rigidity and complex processes, the hierarchy faces many challenges. New flexible management tools are needed to keep up with the dynamic market. Self-managing organizations are responding to this rapid movement and the new needs of the labor market. In my thesis I identify possibilities connected with transformation, its forms and effects. This will be achieved by a systematic literature review. Several world-renowned companies have already undergone transformation, so a study of their progress will become part of the work.
