Representation of Gender Stereotyp in Text Books at Elementary Schools in Litoměřice

Abstract:

The topic of my diploma thesis is a Gender role in selected textbooks of German as a foreign language at primary schools. The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical part and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on textbooks, textbook kinds, selection and last but not least about the functions of textbooks. Furthermore, the theoretical part explains terms like gender, socialization, identity, gender role and depiction of gender role in textbooks based on specific biographies. Practical part describes methodology of content analysis of textbooks. For this analysis were chosen three textbooks of German Language as a second Foreign Language, which were used at primary schools. The depiction of gender roles in textbooks is summarized according to the public and private sphere. The results are presented in tables. At the end of the thesis is evaluation of depiction, where was defined, that there are a traditional gender roles in these textbooks.

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je zobrazení rodových rolí ve vybraných učebnicích němčiny jako cizího jazyka na základních školách. Práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. Teoretická část je věnovaná učebnicím, jejich druhům, výběru učebnic a v neposlední řadě, funkcím učebnic. V druhé části teoretické části jsou vysvětleny na základě odborné literatury pojmy- gender, socializace, identita, rodové role a zastoupení rodových rolí v učebnicích. V praktické části je popsána metoda obsahové analýzy učebnic. Pro tuto analýzu byly vybrané tři učebnice němčiny jako druhého cizího jazyka, které se používají na základních školách. Zobrazení rodových rolí v učebnicích je shrnuto dle veřejné a privátní sféry. Výsledky zobrazení jsou prezentovány v tabulkách. V závěru práce se nachází vyhodnocení zobrazení, kde bylo stanoveno, že v analyzovaných učebních se nachází tradiční rodové role.
