Ranking of companies in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce má za cíl sestavit žebříčky nejúspěšnějších společností v České republice. Nejprve je představen pojem ranking a již existující žebříčky, zejména "100 nejvýznamnějších firem ČR". Pro hodnocení a následné seřazení firem je využita obsáhla databáze Albertina, kde se nachází velké množství účetních závěrek. Jako kritéria pro ranking podniků jsou využity tržby, index tržeb a index IN05. Pomocí absolutní výše tržeb v roce 2012 je určeno 100 podniků s největší silou na trhu. Těchto 100 podniků označených jako TOP100 je dále ohodnoceno dle indexu tržeb. Tento index ukazuje relativní změnu tržeb mezi lety 2012 a 2007. Je tak možné analyzovat vývoj společností v době hospodářské krize. Třetí žebříček ukazuje pořadí dle indexu IN05, a tedy dle schopnosti pravděpodobně tvořit kladnou hodnotu pro vlastníky a investory.

Abstract:

Goal of this Master's Thesis is to create ranks of the most successful companies from the Czech Republic. At the beginning there will be explanation of the term "ranking" and some of already existing ranks will be described, among them there will be rank called "100 nejvýznamnějších firem ČR". For evaluating and ranking companies there will be used vast database Albertina consisting especially of financial statements. For ranking companies there will be used criteria based on revenues, index of revenues and index IN05. By ranking by sales amount achieved in 2012 the list of 100 best companies is created, marking those with the biggest market power. Those 100 companies are called TOP100 and then they are ranked by index of revenues. This index shows relative change of sales between years 2012 and 2007; therefore it is possible to analyze evolution of companies during the world economic crisis. Third ranked list shows companies ordered by index IN05, which shows ability to create positive value for investors with given probability.
