Problems of Internet of Things in Crime

Abstract:

Internet věcí, jak sám název napovídá, je společně s kybernetickou kriminalitou aktuálně společensky velmi přemítaným tématem v odvětví jak hospodářských trestných činů, tak v oblasti general data protection regulation neboli zkráceně napsáno “GDPR“. Diplomová práce je postupně zaměřena na trestné činy proti důvěrnosti, integritě a dostupnosti počítačových dat a systémů přes zneužití chytrých zařízení spadajících pod pojem “Internet věcí“. První kapitoly jsou komplexním úvodem do tématu Internet věcí od jeho počátků až po současnost pro co nejbližší pochopení vývoje této skutečnosti. Zároveň zde jsou představena aktuální zařízení využívaná běžnými uživateli, ale souběžně taktéž podnikatelskými subjekty. Tyto kapitoly se též věnují systematice fungování a vnitřním procesům zařízení internetu věcí, aby následně bylo možné věnovat se a pochopit “modus operandi“, který provází trestnou činnost spojenou s internetem věcí. Diplomová práce následně propojuje získané podklady z prvních kapitol, aby rozdělila jednotlivá zařízení do určitých oblastí pro jednodušší orientaci v následných kapitolách. Ty vysvětlují aktuální vztah legislativy, převážně České Republiky, ke kybernetické kriminalitě obecně s několika příklady mezinárodních dokumentů. Ve spojení s legislativou je zde popisován proces zabezpečování chytrých zařízení proti zneužití, nebo je zde poukázáno na absenci těchto řešení s následnými informacemi pro všechny uživatele ohledně znalostí pro bezpečné užívání. V závěrečných kapitolách ukazuje diplomová práce analýzu rizik a příkladových situací zneužití zařízení spadajících pod internet věcí, na nichž ukazuje aktuální rozsah tohoto tématu a popisuje postupy prevence.

Abstract:

The Internet of Things is next to cybercrime currently a socially very thought-out topic in the field of both: economic crimes and general data protection regulation, or "GDPR" for short. The diploma thesis is gradually focused on crimes against the confidentiality, integrity and availability of computer data and systems through the misuse of smart devices belonging to the term "Internet of Things". The first chapters are a comprehensive introduction to the subject of the Internet of Things from beginnings to the present for the closest possible understanding of the development of this topic. At the same time, current devices used by ordinary users, but also by business, are presented here. These chapters also talking about the systematic functioning and internal processes of the Internet of Things, so we can understand the "modus operandi" of cybercrimes. The diploma thesis combines information from the first chapters, to divide the equipment into certain areas for easier orientation in the following chapters. They explain the relationship of the legislation of the Czech Republic to cybercrime in general with several examples of international documents. The process of securing smart devices against misuse is described here in connection with the legislation, or the absence of these solutions is pointed out here too with informations for all users about knowledge for safe use of IoT. In the final chapters, the thesis shows an analysis of risks and exemplary situations of misuse of devices belonging under the Internet of Things, which shows the current scope of this topic and describes prevention procedures.
