Specifics of Chest Drain Nursing Care in the Context of General Nursing Students' Knowledge

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce jsou Specifika ošetřovatelské péče o hrudní drény v kontextu znalostí studentů všeobecného ošetřovatelství na vybrané vysoké škole. První část bakalářské práce, popisuje obecné informace o hrudních drénech, vybrané historické aspekty o hrudních drénech, indikace a kontraindikace a možné komplikace, které mohou vzniknout při zavedeném hrudním drénu. Druhá kapitola se zabývá specifiky péče o hrudní drény, péče o pacienta s hrudním drénem, poloze při, během a po zavedení hrudního drénu, příprava materiálu k zavedení hrudního drénu, manipulace s hrudním drénem, péči o ránu a okolí, dechovou rehabilitací, transport pacienta s hrudním drénem a péče o pacienta při extrakci hrudního drénu. Cílem této práce je zjistit znalosti studentů studijního programu Všeobecného ošetřovatelství o hrudních drénech a o specifikách péče o hrudní drény. Průzkum probíhal na vybrané vysoké škole u studentů 3. ročníku studijního programu Všeobecné ošetřovatelství u prezenční i kombinované formy studia. Na základě průzkumu bylo např. pozitivně zjištěno, že více než 70,0 % vybraných respondentů má znalosti o specifikách péče o hrudní drény.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is "Specifics of Nursing Care for Chest Drains in the Context of General Nursing Students' Knowledge at a Selected University." The first part of the bachelor thesis describes general information about chest drains, selected historical aspects of chest drains, indications and contraindications, and possible complications that may arise during the insertion of a chest drain. The second chapter deals with the specifics of care for chest drains, caring for a patient with a chest drain, positioning before, during, and after the insertion of a chest drain, preparation of material for the insertion of a chest drain, manipulation of the chest drain, wound and surrounding care, respiratory rehabilitation, transport of a patient with a chest drain, and care for the patient during chest drain extraction. The aim of this work is to determine the knowledge of students in the General Nursing study program about chest drains and the specifics of care for chest drains. The survey was conducted at a selected university among students in the third year of the General Nursing study program in both full-time and part-time forms of study. Based on the survey, it was positively found, for example, that more than 70.0 % of selected respondents have knowledge about the specifics of care for chest drains.
