The thesis is focussing on visual arts and its mutual changes, specifically on those between Japan and Europe since the half of the 19 Century until 1918. It comprises concretely Japanese art situation of the Edo period and the persisting influences of the West, the Meiji period and its changes in art. Práca je zameraná na výtvarné umenie a jeho vzájomné zmeny, a to konkrétne medzi Japonskom a Európou od polovice 19. storočia po rok 1918. Obsiahnuté sú konkrétne japonská umelecká situácia obdobia Edo a pretrvávajúce vplyvy zo západu, obdobie Meidži a jeho zmeny v umení.
