Cosmic weather - ionospheric variations as a results of solar activity

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá studiem ionosféry v závislosti na proměnlivé sluneční aktivitě. Teoretická část popisuje ionosféru, její dynamiku a variace, procesy v ní probíhající a studium stavu ionosféry pomocí pozemního ionosférického sondování. V praktické části je nejprve hodnocena korelace mezi stavem ionosféry a sluneční aktivitou v rámci jednoho slunečního cyklu. Dále je studována závislost kritické frekvence foF2 na geomagnetické šířce měřicí stanice a dále odezva na ejekci koronární hmoty Slunce na devíti stanicích pomocí parametrů foF2 a výšky hmF2.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the study of ionosphere in dependence on the variable solar activity. The theoretical part describes ionosphere, its dynamics and variations, processes running in it and the study of the state of ionosphere by means of the ground ionospheric probing. The practical part evaluates the correlation between the state of ionosphere and solar activity within one solar cycle. It also studies the dependence of the foF2 critical frequency on the geomagnetic latitude of a ionospheric station as well as a reaction to the coronal mass ejection of the sun at nine stations by means of foF2 and hmF2 parameters.
