Relationship of students elementary schools to artificial music

Abstract:

Hudba je jedním z mnoha způsobů komunikace a přináší určité sdělení. K jejímu porozumění člověk potřebuje jistou poslechová zkušenost, která je ovšem rozdílná u hudby artificiální a nonartificiální. U tzv. klasické hudby je ovšem potřeba jiný způsob nazírání na hudební dílo. U dnešní mládeže jsou tyto zkušenosti poměrně malé, jak dokazuje provedený výzkum, zaměřující se na 5. a 9. ročníky základních škol, provedený v roce 2012. Jedná se o závěrečné ročníky prvního a druhého stupně, ve druhém případě i (v mnoha případech) konečnou zkušenost s hudební výchovou. Cílem bylo zaznamenat vztah žáků k artificiální hudbě, míru porozumění tomuto typu hudebního sdělení, jak ho vnímají, jak na ně působí a v neposlední řadě také ochotu dané poslechové ukázky poslouchat. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 107 respondentů, z toho 54 v 5. třídách a 53 v 9. třídách. Při výzkumném šetření byla zkombinována technika sémantického diferenciálu se zvukovým dotazníkem, doplněná o metodu zúčastněného pozorování. Výsledky potvrdily stanovené hypotézy, kdy žáci 5. ročníků vykazují pozitivnější a ochotnější přístup a že známější skladby jsou přijímány lépe než skladby zcela neznámé. S tím také souvisí nižší preference pro skladby se starší datací. Ovšem není pravidlem, že žáci navštěvující ZUŠ hudbu artificiální hodnotí kladněji, než žáci ZUŠ nenavštěvující.

Abstract:

Music is one of many communication ways and brings some message. To understand the music is necessary to have some listening experience. However, it is different by the classical (artificial) and popular (nonartificial) music. The classical music requires a different point of view. Today´s youth has not got a lot of experiences. It proves the survey among pupils in the 5th and in the 9th school years, made in 2012. They are two final school years of the two levels of primary school (in accordance with the Czech education system). For many children it is their last musical education in the 9th class. The aim of the survey was to monitor the pupil´s relations to the classical music, the amount of understanding – how do they perceive this sort of music, how does it impress them – and the willingness to listen to it. There were 107 respondents in the survey - 54 of them were in the 5th school years and 53 were in the 9th school years. There were combined the method of semantic differential with the sound questionnaire and the method of the participating contemplation in the survey. The results validated our hypothesis: 1. Pupils in the 5th classes are more positive and more willing. 2. The more famous compositions are accepted better than the unknown compositions. It is linked to lower preference of the older compositions. However, it is not rule that pupils, who takes lessons in some musical schools, judge the classical music more positive than the others.
