Práce analyzuje příčiny a dosavadní vývoj nadnárodní spolupráce v územním rozvoji a plánování. Popisuje vývoj a fungování jednotlivých nástrojů této spolupráce, kterými jsou iniciativy Společenství jako je např. Interreg a ESPON.
