Stylistic figures in the Citadel by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Abstract:

This Master Thesis deals with occurrence and quantity of stylistic figures as comparison, metaphor, metonymie and synecdoche in the Citadel by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The main goal of this Thesis was to learn the quantity of particular figures in the Citadel and which one is the most numerous. The theoretic part presents all four stylistic figures including the personification which belongs to the metaphor and which is mentioned in the both parts of the Thesis - the theoretic and the practical parts. The practical part proposes the analysis of the Citadel itself from the point of view of the four stylistic figures mentioned.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá výskytem a množstvím stylistických figur, jako je komparace, metafora, metonymie a synekdocha v díle francouzského autora Antoina de Saint-Exupéryho, Citadela. Hlavním cílem této práce bylo zjistit, v jakém množství se jednotlivé figury v literárním díle objevují a která z figur je nejhojnější. Teoretická část prezentuje všechny čtyři vybrané stylistické figury, včetně personifikace, která patří pod metaforu a které je jak v teoretické, tak v praktické části věnován odstavec. Stylistické figury jsou beze sporu učivem nelehkým, proto bylo k napsání práce použito více materiálů, z nichž měly dva klíčové, Style et rhétorique od Claude PEYROUTET a Initiation ? la stylistique od Nicolase LAURENTA, sloužit jako vzor a opora pro praktickou část. Praktická část nabízí analýzu samotné Citadely z hlediska vybraných stylistických figur. Jelikož bylo zřejmé, která z figur je v díle nejčastější a která se objevuje méně, stačilo analyzovat prvních dvě stě stran Citadely. Jak se později ukázalo, nejpočetnější byla komparace, poté metafora, metonymie, personifikace a nakonec synekdocha.
