Inheritance and Possession at the Turn of the 18th Century
Anotace:
Táto práca sa zaoberá možnosťami dediť a vlastniť majetok na prelome 18. storočia. Upriamuje sa predovšetkým na ženy a mieru sociálnej nezávislosti, ktorú mohli dosiahnuť. Práca ďalej analyzuje tento koncept v románe Jane Austenovej Mansfieldské panstvo. Taktiež približuje aký vplyv mali tieto zákony o majetku na vzťahy v rodine.
Abstract:
This thesis deals with the possibilities to inherit and possess property at the turn of the 18th century. The primary focus is on women and their accessible social independence. The work then analyses the concept in Jane Austen's Mansfield Park. It traces the influence the law has on the relations in the family.
