Utopia in the Work of Nam June Paik
Abstract:
V diplomové práci se zabývám analýzou tvorby hudebníka, vizuálního umělce a zakladatele video artu Nam June Paika z hlediska vztahu mezi jeho mediální tvorbou a jeho postojem k novým médiím, zejména jeho utopickými vizemi společenské změny prostřednictvím médií. V této souvislosti byla zvláštní pozornost věnována jeho televizní satelitní tvorbě.
Abstract:
The thesis analyzes the works of the musician, visual artist and video art founder Nam June Paik, and it focuses on his attitude to the new media and how this influenced his media production, in particular his utopian visions of inducing social changes through the media. The thesis pays special attention to Nam June Paik´s television satellite works.
