Literature as visual art

Abstract:

The theme of this bachelor thesis is "Literature as visual art", at first we will therefore concern to the origin and evolution of the relation between literature and visual art. We will show the most popular types of this art and, more specifically, we will focus on visual poetry. The work also explains how to analyze this creation. Then it introduces two French authors, Stéphane Mallarmé and Guillaume Apollinaire, and their collections of the visual poetry. Afterwards, we will analyze these collections of poetry, as regards the collection Calligrammes, we will only deal with the poem ?Lettre ? Océan?.

Abstract:

Le th?me de ce mémoire de licence est ? Littérature ? art visuel ?, ainsi, nous nous préoccuperons de l?origine et de l?évolution de la relation entre la littérature et l?art visuel. Nous monterons des types les plus connus de cet art et, plus concr?tement, nous nous orienterons vers la poésie visuelle. Le travail expliquera aussi comment analyser ce type de poésie. Ensuite, le travail présentera deux auteurs français, Stéphane Mallarmé et Guillaume Apollinaire, et leurs recueils de la poésie visuelle. Puis, nous analyserons ces recueils de po?mes et en ce qui concerne de Calligrammes, nous nous orientons vers le po?me ? Lettre ? Océan ?.
