Nursing Care in a Patient with an Inserted PICC Catheter

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá ošetřovatelskou péčí u pacientů se zavedeným PICC katetrem. Cílem práce je zhodnotit míru rizika vzniku komplikací v podobě dermatitid při použití transparentního krytí s Chlorhexidinem Glukonátem a transparentního krytí bez přidané baktericidní vložky a jejich vzájemné porovnání. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části je představena problematika PICC katetru a ošetřovatelské péče před a po zavedení katetru. Dále se práce zabývá komplikacemi, a to zejména vznikem dermatitid. Praktická část je vedena formou přehledové práce. Hlavním cílem je porovnat vliv transparentního krytí s a bez přidané baktericidní vložky na vznik dermatitidy. Výsledky přehledové práce přináší poznatky, které krytí je vhodnější v ošetřovatelské péči.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the nursing care of patients with an inserted PICC catheter. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the risk of complications in the form of dermatitis when using a transparent cover with Chlorhexidine Gluconate and a transparent cover without added bactericidal insert and to compare them with each other. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part, the issues of PICC catheter and nursing care before and after catheter insertion are presented. Furthermore, the thesis deals with complications, especially the development of dermatitis. The practical part is conducted in the form of a review paper. The main aim is to compare the effect of transparent cover with and without added bactericidal insert on the occurrence of dermatitis. The results of the review work provide insights into which covering is more appropriate in nursing care.
