The death in the works for readers younger school age

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je věnována problematice smrti a existenciálním tématům v literatuře pro děti a mládež. Teoretická část obsahuje pohled na postoje společnosti ke smrti v minulosti a v dnešní době. Rovněž shrnuje poznatky z psychologie, pedagogiky a literární vědy o vnímání smrti v dětském věku. Práce rovněž obsahuje kapitoly věnující se žánrům a jim odpovídajícím titulům, které zobrazují smrt a oslovují zvláště děti mladšího školního věku. Stěžejní pasáže diplomové práce tvoří jednak výčet knih obsahujících tuto tematiku dostupných na současném knižním trhu a informace o nich, rovněž je tvoří analýzy tří vybraných děl od současných autorů, výsledky rozhovoru s dětmi o smrti v literatuře a umění a závěry využitelné pro školní praxi.

Abstract:

The main aim of the diploma thesis is to investigate the concept of death and existential themes in the literature for children and youth. The theoretical part introduces the society's views of the death in the past and nowadays. It also summarizes the findings of psychology, pedagogy and literature on the childhood's perception of death. The work also contains chapters exploring the role of death in particular genres, each represented by an example title that address particularly younger children. The main part of the diploma thesis consists of a list of the books, which are dealing with the topic and can be find on the market nowadays. The diploma gives a brief information for each of the item on the list. Furthermore the diploma analyzes three selected works by contemporary authors and presents the results of the interviews with children about death in the literature and art and suggests its impact for the school practice.
