Influence of lobbyism on the final version of a new chemical legislation EU - REACH

Abstract:

V této práci je popsán a zkoumán lobbing dvou rozhodujících stran (zástupců průmyslu a nevládních ekologických organizací) při schvalování návrhu nové chemické legislativy - nařízení REACH. Cílem práce je ověřit hypotézu „Lobbing opírající se o ekonomická témata je účinnější než lobbing obhajující lidské zdraví a ochranu životního prostředí.“, což bude provedeno na základě rozboru nejdůležitějších požadavků obou stran a jejich promítnutí do konečné verze legislativy.

Abstract:

This paper describes and analyzes lobbing of the two crucial sides (Industry Representatives and Nongovernmental Ecological Organizations) during connivance of the Proposal for a new chemical legislation - REACH Regulation. The aim of the thesis is to verify a hypothesis “Lobbing favouring economical topics is more effectual than the one advocating human health and protection of the environment. Research will be done by analysis the most important amendments of the both sides and their reflection into the final version of the REACH Regulation.
