Profit and business ethics as seen through the concepts of Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility

Abstract:

Tématem této práce je oblast zisku a podnikatelské etiky, především koncept společenské odpovědnosti firem (CG a CSR), jenž se v současnosti stává, zejména na globálních trzích fenoménem. V práci se zabývám různými aspekty a metod řešení CSR. Teoretická část popisuje vývoj koncepce k zlepšení sociální image firem. V praktické části se věnuji soudobé tendenci ve společensky odpovědném podnikání, etickém investování, kdy krize otevřela otázku etiky, a jednotlivým oblastem, ve kterých mohou firmy uplatnit své etické přístupy. Závěr práce shrnuje ekonomickou a společenskou výkonnost firem. Dosavadní výzkumy vztahu etického jednání a finančních výsledků (zisk) neprokázaly, že by byl uvedený vztah pozitivně korelován. V práci uvádím SRI portfolio jako hledisko ve fundamentální analýze, patřící do moderních aplikací prosperujícího trhu. V závěru se zamýšlím nad situací a budoucností CSR v České republice i vlivem globalizace na CSR v rámci světové ekonomiky.

Abstract:

The subject of this thesis is the field of business ethics, mainly the corporate social Responsibillity conception (CG and CSR) which is presently becoming a phenomenon, especially in global markets. In my thesis I deal with different aspects of CSR. The theoretical part describes the evolution of the conception to innovation social image company. In the practical part I deal with a process of CSR integration, ethic investment, where firms can practice their ethic consideration. The conclusion summarizes economic as well as social performance of firms. Up to now researches regarding a relation of ethic behaviour and financial results (profit) have not robustly proved the relation to be positively correlated. Let-in note I indicate SRI portfolio as that of aspekt in fundamental analyse. The conclusion is devoted to the several thoughts about contemporary CSR and its future in the Czech Republic and about the effect of globalization on the CSR in the world wide economy.
