Diplomová práce nastiňuje období české secese a symbolismu na přelomu 19. a 20. století, které významným způsobem předurčuje následný vývoj přicházejícího českého moderního umění. Práce zároveň reflektuje způsob užití antického motivu ve zmíněném období, v rámci výtvarného umění, v kontextu se zmíněnými dobovými změnami. The thesis Antique themes in the art of Czech symbolism and art nouveau reflects the using of antique themes in the period of the Czech symbolism and Art Nouveau at the turn of 19th and 20th century. The thesis outlines the whole of said period, that bears the signs of the coming Modern Art.
