Forage production using selected cover crops when establishing alfalfa stands

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je posoudit význam vybraných krycích plodin při zakládání porostů vojtěšky seté prostřednictvím literární rešerše. Vedlejším cílem je vyhodnotit produkci vybraných krycích plodin a jejich vliv na vyseté porosty vojtěšky v polním pokusu. Z nasbíraných dat vyplývá, že nejvhodnější variantou zakládání porostu vojtěšky je ve formě čistosevu. Z variant zakládání porostu vojtěšky seté jako optimální krycí plodina vyšel oves setý, který výrazně nepotlačil podsev vojtěšky a při sklizni byl u této varianty nejvyšší výnos píce. V prvním sledování 29. 4. 2019 byl pozorován nejvyšší počet rostlin u vojtěšky seté ve variantě čistosevu a to 400 jedinců na m2. Druhé sledování bylo zaměřeno na výnos píce při první seči a vlivu krycích plodin nebo čistosevu na vojtěšky na hustotu porostu. Největší výnos byl prokázán ve variantě vojtěšky s krycí plodinou oves a to 1213 g.m-2 suché hmoty. Poslední sledování bylo zaměřeno na počet rostlin vojtěšky seté a tloušťky kořenových krčků přibližně rok od založení porostu. Nejmenší průměr kořenových krčků vojtěšky seté byl ve variantě s jílkem a to 4,13 mm a největší průměr kořenových krčků byl naměřen ve variantě s ovsem a to 7, 23 mm. Poslední měření 18. 4. 2020 ukázalo, že nejvyšší počet rostlin vojtěšky byl v případě, kdy při založení porostu nebyla použita krycí plodina, bylo naměřeno 184 jedinců na m2. Nejnižší počet rostlin vojtěšky byl naměřen ve variantě s čirokem a to 22,7 jedinců na m2.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to assess the importance of selected cover crops on the establishment of Lucerne stands through a literature search. The secondary goal was to evaluate the forage production of selected cover crops and their influence on sown Lucerne stands in a field experiment. The collected data showed that the most suitable variant of establishing an stand is in the form of pure seed. Oat emerged from the variants of establishing lucerne as the optimal cover crop, which did not significantly suppress the population, and at harvest the highest forage yield was in this variant. In the first follow-up on 29. 4. 2019, the highest number of plants was observed in the pure sowing variant, namely 400 individuals per m2. The second monitoring focused on forage yield during the first mowing and the effect of cover crops or sowing on on stand density. The highest yield was demonstrated in variants of lucerne with a covering crop of oat and up to 1213 g.m-2 dry matter. The last monitoring was focused on the number of plants and the root diameter just below crown approximately one year after the establishment of the stand. The smallest diameter of the root of lucerne was 4.13 mm in the variant with ryegrass and the largest diameter of the root was measured in the variant with oats, 7,23 mm. The last measurement on 18 April 2020 showed that the highest number of lucerne plants was pure stand without cover crops, 184 individuals per m2 were found. The lowest number of lucerne plants was measured in the sorghum variant, namely 22.7 individuals per m2.
