Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the U.S. Navy SEALs as one of the special forces groups of the U.S. Military and covers the theme of unconventional warfare. It brings into perspective the U.S. Navy SEALs? unconventional approach to combat situations and its organizing, training and utilization of military personnel. In the beginning, the thesis introduces the predecessors of the U.S. Navy SEALs and their involvement in the major military conflicts of the 20th century. The second part focuses on the personality and characteristics of a Navy SEAL and reveals the specifications of the training and preparation of U.S. Navy SEALs operators. It also explains the positions and the roles of individual Teams. The last part of this thesis looks closely at recent conflicts in which the U.S. Navy SEALs have been involved. It analyzes their role and the effort they bring to ?hot zones? in combat areas and gives a general overview of today?s ?war on terrorism?.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje jednotce U.S. Navy SEALs coby jedné ze speciálních jednotek amerických ozbrojených sil, a také oblasti nekonvenčního pojetí boje. Práce přináší pohled na nekonvenční způsob boje, kterým se U.S. Navy SEALs zapojují do bojových situací. Na začátku práce představuje předchůdce U.S. Navy SEALs a jejich zapojení do největších válečných konfliktů 20. století. Druhá část věnuje pozornost osobnosti a charakteristice bojovníka z řad U.S. Navy SEALs a odhaluje specifika tréninku a přípravy operátorů U.S. Navy SEALs. Zároveň také vysvětluje roli a funkci jednotlivých týmů. Poslední část přináší pohled na současné válečné konflikty, v nichž jsou U.S. Navy SEALs zapojeni. Práce analyzuje jejich roli a přínos v oblastech, v nichž ?zuří? boj, a také poskytuje obecný přehled ?války proti terorismu?.
