Functional typology of startup accelerators

Abstract:

Accelerators invest in start-ups, while putting them through intensive development program in order to accelerate their future growth. This uses theoretical knowledge about the growth of the firm to define the basic functions of the accelerators. These functions form an analytical framework for creation of a functional typology of accelerators. Finally, implications for industrial policy are discussed.

Akcelerátory sú organizácie, ktoré investujú do začínajúcich podnikov a zároveň im ponúkajú intenzívny rozvojový program s cieľom akcelerovať ich budúci rast. Táto práca vychádzajúc z teoretických poznatkov o raste firmy definuje základné funkcie akcelerátora, ktoré tvoria analytický rámec pre vytvorenie funkčnej typológie akceleračných programov. Na záver sú diskutované implikácie pre priemyselnú politiku.
