Didactic Games in English Lessons at Primary School

Abstract:

V předložené diplomové práci se věnuji didaktickým hrám ve výuce anglického jazyka na 1. stupni ZŠ. Práci jsem rozdělila na dvě části. První část je věnovaná teorii. Zamýšlím se v ní nad vzděláváním žáků mladšího školního věku, popisuji didaktickou hru a její strukturu, tradiční vyučování cizího jazyka a také jazykové prostředky a dovednosti. Teoretická část poskytuje zejména základní informace o didaktické hře a zdůvodňuje její používání ve výuce. Jejím cílem je dokázat, že didaktické hry mají ve výuce své místo, díky schopnosti aktivovat u žáka všechny smysly. Chtěla bych hry představit jako moderní a efektivní vyučovací metodu a obhájit jejich používání ve výuce anglického jazyka. Ve druhé části práce se věnuji výzkumnému šetření. Zejména se zabývám otázkou, zda je výuka realizovaná prostřednictvím didaktických her úspěšnější, než tradiční výuka s využitím jazykových učebnic a to v oblasti výuky gramatické struktury a slovní zásoby.

Abstract:

In my thesis I am focusing on teaching English at primary school by the didactic games. I divided it in two parts. The first part is devoted to a theory. I am trying to think about education of primary school children and describe a game and its structure by the traditional teaching a foreign language and language resources and skills. The theory part provides mainly basic information about a didactic game and explains its usage in teaching. The main aim is to prove, that the didactic games have an importance thanks to ability to activate each sense of a pupil. I would like to introduce the games as a modern and more effective teaching method and prove its usage in teaching English. In the second part of my thesis I am concentrating on investigation research. I devote mainly to a question if the teaching made by didactic games is more successful than traditional teaching by using a textbook in the field of teaching grammatical structures and vocabulary.
