Rights and obligations of travel agents towards the consumer

Abstract:

Tato práce řeší práva a povinnosti cestovních kanceláří vůči spotřebiteli. Hlavním cílem je analyzovat nabídku cestovních kanceláří na internetu a zjistit míru splnění zákonem daných podmínek. K naplnění cíle byla použita metoda desk research, obsahová a statistická analýza, online mystery shopping a strukturované rozhovory. První dvě kapitoly se zabývají legislativním rámcem pro podnikání v cestovním ruchu, specifika pro cestovní kanceláře a vlivem legislativy na marketingový mix cestovní kanceláře. Třetí kapitola popisuje metodiku analýzy a výzkumu, jejichž výsledky jsou poté popsány v následujících dvou kapitolách. Z výsledků vyplívá, že valná většina cestovních kanceláří neinformuje dostatečně své spotřebitele při nabídce zájezdů na internetu. Výsledky online mystery shoppingu naznačují, že problémem může být také nepřehlednost internetových stránek.

Abstract:

This thesis addresses the rights and obligations of travel agents towards the consumer. The main objective is to analyse the offer of travel agencies on the internet and to determine the degree of compliance with the statutory conditions. To achieve the objective, desk research, content and statistical analysis, online mystery shopping and structured interviews were used. The first two chapters deal with the legislative framework for the tourism business, the specifics for travel agencies and the impact of the legislation on the marketing mix of the travel agency. The third chapter describes the analysis and research methodology, the results of which are then described in the following two chapters. The results show that the vast majority of travel agencies do not inform their consumers sufficiently when offering tours on the Internet. The results of the online mystery shopping suggest that the lack of clarity of the websites may also be a problem.
