Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje kulturním a politickým činnostem ruského aktivistického hnutí Pussy Riot. To svými kontroverzními aktivitami kritizovalo a poukazovalo na důležité společenské problémy Ruska. Skupina se proslavila po svém vystoupení v Chrámě Krista Spasitele v Moskvě, kde svou písní, známou jako „punková modlitba“, kritizovala úzké propojení církve a státu, za což byly dvě členky skupiny odsouzeny ke dvěma rokům odnětí svobody. Vystoupení i následující soudní proces sledovala média po celém světě a společnost se svými názory na skupinu Pussy Riot rozdělila. Trest odnětí svobody přišel jedné části adekvátní, druhým se trest zdá příliš krutý. V souvislosti s kauzou Pussy Riot se po světě začala řešit otázka svobody slova v Rusku.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with cultural and political doing of Russian activist movement Pussy Riot. By their controversial activities the movement pointed out and criticized crucial social issues in Russia. The group became famous after their performance in Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Saviour where by their song “Punk Prayer” they criticized close connection between church and state, which resulted in sentencing two of the group’s members to serve two years in prison. The performance and the following judicial proceedings were medialized all over the world, and the nation was divided into two groups depending on their different opinions about the group’s punishment. One group found the sentence adequate and the second group considered it too excessive. The case of Pussy Riot started to raise the question of freedom of speech in Russia.
