Types of the czech contemporary open air theatre

Abstract:

Autorka si ve své diplomové práci klade za cíl prozkoumat současné české typy divadla pod otevřeným nebem a prostřednictvím analýz tvorby vybraných, níže uvedených divadelních souborů a jedné plenérové akce tento fenomén pojmenovat: Divadlo Kvelb (jarmareční divadlo), Divadlo Continuo (site-specific, fyzické divadlo), Bílé divadlo (divadlo poezie, alternativní divadlo), Geisslers Hofcomoedianten (tradice barokního divadla) a akce Roztocký a Únětický masopust (karneval). Zdůvodněním výběru právě těchto souborů je jejich přístup k tvorbě pod otevřeným nebem osobitým, navzájem kontrastním způsobem a celková stylová a žánrová pestrost, díky čemuž zaujímají v kontextu českého divadla svébytné místo. K detailnější analýze je od každého souboru zvolena alespoň jedna inscenace vystihující poetiku daného divadla. Diplomová práce se pokusí na vybraných příkladech prozkoumat spektrum inscenačních přístupů s hlavním cílem pojmenovat dramaturgická východiska, která vedou inscenátory do plenérových prostor a především popsat a analyzovat osobité výrazové prostředky tvorby divadla pod otevřeným nebem, jako je práce s prostorem, specifika výpravy, hudby a herectví. Na základě jednotlivých analýz bude v závěru práce provedena komparace reflektovaných inscenací/akce v širším kontextu tvorby divadla pod otevřeným nebem.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to explore contemporary Czech open-air theatre types. By analyzing the production of selected, below-mentioned theatre ensembles and one open-air event the author will name this phenomenon. The Kvelb Theatre (folk-fair theatre), The Continuo Theatre (site-specific, physical theatre), The White theatre (poetry, alternative theatre), Geisslers Hofcomoedianten (baroque-tradition theatre) and a carnival in Roztoky and Unetice. The rationale of chosing these ensembles is their distinctive, mutually contrasting approach to an open-air production and their overall style and genre variety, thanks to which they hold a peculiar position in the Czech theatre context. The author chose at least one play characterizing the poetics of each theatre and did a more detailed analysis. This diploma thesis will try to examine the spectrum of production approaches on the selected examples and its main aim is to name dramaturgical grounds, which take the play-makers to the open-air environment and mainly to describe and analyze distinctive expressional means of the open-air theatre, which is work with space, specifics of stage setting, music and acting. On the basis of the individual analyses the author will compare the reflected plays/the carneval in a broader context of the open-air theatre production.
