Tato práce se zabývá právním postavením Afroameričanů ve státech Virginie a Jižní Karolína. Je zaměřena hlavně na proces formování otroctví a na jeho srovnání ve zmíněných státech. Abstract:

The thesis deals with the legal status of African Americans in two states: Virginia and South Carolina. It focuses on the emergence of chattel slavery and compares its formation in the two states. The thesis also examines the individual statutes and the slave codes that were issued in Virginia and South Carolina.
