Potential of geocaching as a new form of tourism

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce je seznámení s geocachingem a jeho vlivem na cestovní ruch. Bakalářská práce nejprve přináší základní informace o této nové stále se rozvíjející hře. Stručně nás seznámí se základními výrazy, zkratkami, systémem GPS, historií a pravidly geocachingu. Dále práce směřuje k tomu, jakou spojitost má geocaching a cestovní ruch. Krátce je také zmíněn vývoj a některé statistiky geocachingu v České republice. V další kapitole je představen nejen vliv geocachingu na cestovní ruch, ale také na ekonomické odvětví. Zjistíme, že tato hra určitým způsobem ovlivňuje a působí na cestovní ruch a že díky geocachingu se také vytváří nový segment trhu, se kterým přichází potřeba nových výrobků a prodejen, ať už kamenných či internetových. Na závěr jsou zmapována vybraná místa a výskyt cachí, což má vliv i na jejich udržitelný rozvoj. Je také zachycen počet návštěvníků v těchto místech a ukázáno jaký vliv mají ukryté poklady na cestovní ruch v daných destinacích.

Abstract:

The main objective of thesis is to introduce geocaching as a rather new activity and its impact on tourism. In the first part the bachelor thesis provides basic information about this new ever-evolving game. It briefly introduces basic terms, abbreviations , GPS , history and rules of geocaching . Further on, the wor focuses on geocaching tourism relation, includin. Statistics relating to geocaching in the Czech Republic. The next section presents not only the influence of geocaching on tourism in several fields-, and but also the economic sector . We find that this game provides impact on tourism in several fields-, and geocaching also creates a new segment of the market by demanding for new products. In the final selected sites are mapped and occurrence of caches in these locations is displayed. It also shows the number of visitors to these sites and demonstrated the influence of the hidden treasures of tourism in these destinations .
