The effectiveness of ABA/VB in area of mands, tacts and intraverbals of children with autism

Abstract:

Title of bachelor thesis is "The effectiveness of ABA/VB in area of mands, tacts and intraverbals of children with autism." The theoretical part deals with a diagnosis of autism, its characteristic symptoms and difficulties of children with this diagnosis in complex perspective. The second part deals with ABA/VB. ABA/VB concepts are explained, with their significance and various approaches that are used in the process of therapy. It explains the basic terminology. The goal of the qualitative research was to determine the effectiveness of ABA/VB to acquire skills in selected areas of children with autism. Research observed how many selected children knew before the intervention and which was an increase of skills in the areas after five months of intervention. The results were processed and evaluated. Data collection was conducted in selected therapeutic center that is using ABA/VB.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca má názov „Efektivita ABA/VB na oblasť mandov, taktov a intraverbálov u detí s autizmom“. Teoretická časť sa zaoberá diagnózou autizmus, jej charakteristikou, prejavmi a ťažkosťami detí s touto diagnózou v komplexnom pohľade. Druhá časť sa zaoberá témou ABA/VB. Vysvetľuje pojmy ABA a VB, približuje ich význam a prístupy, ktoré sú využívané v procese terapie. Vysvetľuje základnú terminológiu. Cieľom kvalitatívneho výskumu bolo zistiť efektivitu ABA/VB na nadobúdanie zručností vo vybraných oblastiach u detí s autizmom. Výskum porovnával koľko vybrané deti vedeli pred začiatkom intervencie a aký bol nárast zručností v daných oblastiach po piatich mesiacoch intervencie. Výsledky boli spracované a vyhodnotené. Zber údajov prebiehal vo vybranom terapeutickom centre využívajúcom ABA/VB.
