The Compositional Structure of Jan Čep's Early Works

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou motivické a narativní výstavby raných próz Jana Čepa z 20. a počátku 30. let, Dvojí domov, Vigilie a Zeměžluč. Předmětem bakalářské práce je analýza próz z hlediska motivické a narativní výstavby. Motivická analýza sestává z hledání dominantních motivů a jejich variant. V případě zkoumání narativní výstavby textu jde o interní subjekty a kategorie času a prostoru. Práce je pokusem o přehledné zpracování základních konstant Čepova raného díla a zachycení jeho autorského vývoje.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the motif and narrative structure of Jan Čep's early works from the 1920s and the 1930s: Dvojí domov, Vigilie and Zeměžluč. The main aim was to analyze the texts from the motif and narrative perspective. The motif analysis is based on the uncovering of the dominant motives and their variants. As part of the narrative structure analysis, the internal subjects and categories of time and space are explored. The thesis tries to elaborate the basic constants of Čep's early works and to capture his development as an author.
