Cooperation with mother as a part of nursing care of immature neonate

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem spolupráce nelékařských zdravotnických pracovníků pečujících o předčasně narozené novorozence s jejich matkami. Spolupráce s rodiči je dnes považována za nedílnou součást ošetřovatelské péče v neonatologii. V teoretické části práce je shrnuta klasifikace novorozenců a základní ošetřovatelské problémy, se kterými se lze setkat v péči o předčasně narozené děti. Dále je zde popsán význam zapojení rodičů do péče o novorozence s důrazem na podporu vzniku a vývoje vztahu mezi matkou a dítětem, který může být po předčasném porodu ohrožen.V teoretické části jsou také popsány jednotlivé činnosti, kterými se může matka zapojit do péče své dítě. Pozornost je věnována také edukační činnosti sester. Praktická část obsahuje výzkumné šetření na téma týkající se kvality podávaných informací nelékařskými zdravotnickými pracovníky matkám na Neonatologickém oddělení - Jednotce intenzivní a resuscitační péče ve Fakultní nemocnici v Plzni. Na základě výsledků praktické části byla vytvořena edukační brožura určená matkám předčasně narozených dětí.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis deals with the cooperation between the non-medical healthcare professionals, tending the premature newborn infants, and the mothers. The joint care is today considered an integral part of nursing in the field of neonatology. The theoretical part of the thesis sums up the classification of the newborn infants and the basic nursing problems, which can be encountered when tending the premature newborns. It further describes the importance of involving the infants? parents in the care, emphasizing the benefits for the formation and development of the relationship between a mother and her child, which might be affected by the preterm birth. The theoretical part also describes individual activities, with which a mother can participate in the nursing care.Attention is drawn to the education of the nursing staff, too. The practical part contains a research focusing on the quality of information given by the non-medical healthcare professionals to the mothers in the neonatology department ? Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the Teaching Hospital in Pilsen. An educational brochure has been created for the mothers of the premature newborns, based on the results of the practical part of the thesis.
