The Identification of a Younger School-Aged Child with a Literary Work and Theatre Performance

Anotácia:

Disertační práce se zabývá tematikou identifikace dětí mladšího školního věku s literárním dílem a divadelním představením. Teoreticky vymezuje význam umění, literatury a divadla pro dětské recipienty. Na základě komunikačních aspektů obou uměleckých oblastí a jejich specifik, především z hlediska recepce, nastiňuje proces identifikace dětí s literárním dílem a divadelním představením. Identifikace je tak vnímána jako významná součást komunikačního procesu odrážející způsob uchopení a přijetí uměleckého díla. Teoretické poznatky slouží jako východisko pro výzkum využívající strategii kvalitativního výzkumu s výzkumnými nástroji zahrnujícími umělecký výzkum a fenomenologický přístup. Na příkladech literárních titulů (Lewis Carroll: Za zrcadlem a co tam Alenka našla; Karel May: Vinnetou) a divadelních inscenací (Lewis Carroll, Tomáš Pavčík: Alenka za zrcadlem; Karel May, Jiří Jelínek: Vinnetou) přináší nové poznatky o způsobu identifikace dětských recipientů ve věku 8 až 9/10 let s vybranými uměleckými díly. Cílem je poskytnout komplexní obraz recepce současných dětských čtenářů a diváků a nabídnout východiska pro možné uchopení výzkumných aktivit v dané oblasti i praktické impulzy v přesahu do pedagogické praxe.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the topic of the identification of younger school-aged children with literary works and theatre performances. When it comes to theory, this paper defines the terms the arts, literature and theatre for young recipients, and puts them into the context of identification based on the communication aspects of both artistic spheres and their specificities in terms of reception. Identification is perceived to be a significant factor of the communication process, reflecting the way of grasping and accepting the art form. The theoretical findings serve as a starting point for research using a qualitative research strategy with research tools including artistic research and a phenomenological approach. Works of literature (Lewis Carroll: Alice through the Looking-Glass; Karl May: Winnetou) and theatre productions (Lewis Carroll, Tomáš Pavčík: Alice through the Looking-Glass; Karl May, Jiří Jelínek: Vinnetou) as examples will give results about how young recipients aged 8-9/10 identify with the selected works of art. The goal is to provide a comprehensive picture of the reception of contemporary young readers and viewers, and offer a starting point for possible research activities in this field, as well as practical impulses stretching to pedagogical practice.
