Quantification of selected sulphates with respect to industry utilization

Abstract:

Diplomová práce shrnuje výsledky studia vybraných metod z hlediska jejich vhodnosti pro kvantitativní stanovení anhydritu, bassanitu a sádrovce. První část je literární rešerše shrnující mineralogickou charakterizaci vápenatých síranů, základní informace o fyzikálních principech a využití RTG difrakce v metodách kvantitativního stanovení a charakteristiky analytických metod interního standardu, konstantního přídavku a korundového čísla RIR. Experimentální část prezentuje výsledky RTG difrakčních fázových analýz kontrolních směsí síranů vápenatých provedených sledovanými metodami pro porovnání jejich efektivity, dále uvádí výsledky validací těchto metod z hlediska jejich přesnosti, linearity, opakovatelnosti a experimentální náročnosti. Na základě srovnání parametrů jednotlivých metod je jako optimální vyhodnocena RTG difrakční analýza metodou interního standardu. Metodu interního standardu lze považovat za metodu vhodnou pro stanovení fází síranu vápenatého (anhydritu, bassanitu a sádrovce) při jejich kvantitativním stanovení v přírodních i druhotných průmyslových surovinách.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis summarizes the results of studies of selected methods of X-ray diffraction phase analysis in terms of their suitability for the quantitative determination of anhydrite, bassanite and gypsum. The first part is a literature research summarizing the mineralogical characterization of calcium sulfate, basic information on physical principles and the use of X-ray diffraction methods of quantification and characteristics of the analytical methods internal standard method, doping method and RIR method. Experimental section presents the results of X-ray diffraction phase analysis of control mixtures of calcium sulphates carried by pursued methods to compare their effectiveness, then presents the results of the validation of these methods in terms of their accuracy, linearity, repeatability and experimental requirements. By comparison of the parameters of each method, X-ray diffraction analysis internal standard method is evaluated as optimal. Internal standard method can be considered as a suitable method for determining the phases of calcium sulphate (anhydrite, bassanite and gypsum) in their quantitative determination in natural and secondary industrial raw materials.
