The development of manipulating functions of seniors using canistherapy

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá rozvojem manipulačních funkcí u seniorů pomocí canisterapie. Práce se skládá se ze dvou částí - teoretické a praktické. V první, teoretické části, jsou objasněny základní pojmy jako animoterapie, canisterapie, stáří a jemná motorika. Podkladem pro praktickou část práce je kvantitativní metoda sběru dat ve formě nestandardizovaného dotazníku vlastní konstrukce. Výzkum má za účel zjistit, jaký je hlavní cíl canisterapeutů pracujících se seniory. Sběr dat byl proveden na vzorku 59 respondentů z celé České republiky a prokázal, že hlavním cílem canisterapeutů je zlepšení psychického stavu seniorů a jejich motivace. Výsledkem této práce je brožura, která byla zpracována na základě studia odborné literatury, poznatků z dotazníků a praktických zkušeností studenta ergoterapie. Jsou v ní popsány konkrétní aktivity seniora se psem, podporující rozvoj manipulačních funkcí. Brožura bude sloužit seniorům i samotným canisterapeutům jako inspirace na aktivity podporující manipulační funkce, zejména pak jemnou motoriku této věkové skupiny.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with development of manipulation functions of seniors using canistherapy. Bachelor thesis is made from two parts - theoretical and practical. First mentioned, theoretical part, clears up the basic terms such as animotherapy, canistherapy, agedness and soft skills. The base for the practical part is quantitative method of collecting a data in form of self-made unstandardized survey. Research has purpose to find out what is the main goal of canistherapists working with seniors. Data were collected from 59 respondents from the Czech Republic and showed that the main goal of canistherapists is to improve on psychical state of mind and motivation of seniors. Result of this bachelor thesis is brochure which was made based on study of professional literature, notes from the survey and practical skills and knowledge by the occupational therapy student. Concrete activities of the senior in cooperation with the dog, supporting development of manipulation functions, are described in this brochure. Brochure will help seniors and canistherapists as an inspiration for activities supporting manipulation functions, particularly fine motor skills for this specific age group.
