Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá odrazem americké společnosti 50. až 70. let dvacátého století v hudbě. Zachycuje kouzlo zlaté éry hudby, kterou 50. a 60. léta nepochybně byla. Tato práce se zabývá také hlavními společenskými a politickými událostmi těchto desetiletí a tvorbou vybraných umělců, v jejichž hudbě nebo textech se tyto události odrážely. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních kapitol a jejich podkapitol, které zhruba odpovídají jednotlivým desetiletím. První kapitola je věnována americké politice a společnosti 50. let dvacátého století a poskytuje informace o zrodu rokenrolu a jeho kořenech. Tato část také vysvětluje příčiny revolty mladé generace v 50. letech 20. století. Druhá část práce se zabývá americkou politikou a společností 60. let a částečně zasahuje do 70. let 20. století, což je spojeno s koncem války ve Vietnamu. Tato část je o folkovém obrození, nástupu rockové hudby a nové revoltě nastupující generace, která vyústila v kulturní a sociální revoluci.

Abstract:

This thesis examines the American society from the 1950s to the 1970s as reflected in music. It captures the spirit of the golden age of music, which the 1950s and the 1960s undoubtedly were. It also brings near the main social and political issues of those decades and chosen artists who reflected them in their music or lyrics. The Bachelor thesis is divided into two major chapters and their subchapters, approximately corresponding to the decades. The first chapter introduces the American politics and society of the 1950s and provides information about the birth of rock and roll and its roots. This part also explains the causes of the revolt of young generation in the 1950s. The second part of the thesis outlines the American politics and society of the 1960s and partly covers the 1970s, which is connected with the end of Vietnam War. This part deals with the folk revival, rise of rock and new revolt of young generation that led to the social and Cultural Revolution.
