Physical educational associations in Plasy

Abstract:

Od druhé poloviny 19. století docházelo v Plasích ke vzniku spolků, včetně tělovýchovných jednot Sokola a Dělnické tělovýchovné jednoty (neboli DTJ). TJ Sokol Plasy byl založen v roce 1909 Dr. Vilémem Luftem a Eduardem Taušem. Samotné začátky jednoty nebyly snadné, jak z hlediska podmínek v Rakousko-Uhersku, tak z pohledu financí. Nicméně spolek tyto překážky překonal a během 1. světové války dokázal spojit síly s DTJ, která v Plasích vznikla o několik let později, v podobě Národních Stráží. Oba spolky si během První republiky zdravě konkurovaly a zdolaly i období Protektorátu. Bakalářská práce se pokusí shrnout jejich vznik, vývoj, peripetie a vliv na obyvatelstvo Plas.

Abstract:

Since the second half of the 19th century there have been certain associations established in Plasy including associations like Sokol and DTJ. TJ Sokol Plasy was founded in 1909 by Dr. Vilém Luft and Eduard Tauš. The beginnings were not easy because lack of finances and conditions from the Austro-Hungarian empire. Nevertheless the association overcame these difficulties and during the World War One joined its forces with DTJ. During 20's and 30's both associations competed with each other in a good way and they even overcame the times of the Protectorate. This Bachelor's thesis deals with how were these associations created, how they developed and what kind of influence they had on the population of Plasy.
