Filtafry: a suitable sustainable franchise for Czech Republic?

Abstract:

Britská franšíza Filtafry nabízí řešení v oblasti zpracování použitého fritovacího oleje. Úspěšně působí zvláště na trzích Západní Evropy a USA. Tématem bakalářské práce je posouzení potenciálního úspěchu Filtafry v České republice z pohledu příspěvku k udržitelnému rozvoji a z pohledu obchodní příležitosti. Hlavní výzkumná otázka: Může franšíza Filtafry přispět k udržitelnému rozvoji Česka a být obchodně úspěšná? Vedlejší výzkumné otázky: Je český trh vhodný pro franšízu Filtafry? Jaké jsou významné příležitosti a bariéry vstupu na trh? Posouzení příspěvku Filtafry k udržitelnému rozvoji zasazuji do rámce teorie zúčastněných stran, koncepce sociální odpovědnosti firem a oblasti plnění Cílů udržitelného rozvoje OSN. Posouzení obchodních příležitostí provedeme aplikací metodiky Lean Canvas a provedením analýzy bodu zvratu. Z provedených analýz odvozuji doporučení pro ustavení franšízy Filtafry v České republice.

Abstract:

Great Britain-based franchise Filtafry offers solutions within the used cooking oil recycling area. Company is successfully operating on the markets of Western Europe and the USA. The bachelor’s thesis topic is to evaluate the company’s potential success on the Czech market from the sustainable development and the market opportunity points of view. Main research question: can Fitafry franchise contribute to the sustainable development of Czech Republic and be financially successful at the same time? Additional research questions: is Czech market suitable for the Filtafry franchise? What are the most significant opportunities and obstacles related to entering the Czech market? Filtafry’s contribution to the domestic sustainable development will be evaluated using the stakeholder theory, CSR concept and the problematics of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Business opportunity will be evaluated using the Lean Canvas methodology and the break-even point analysis. Based upon mentioned methodologies and theories, recommendations regarding Filtafry’s entering the Czech market will be formulated.
