Factors of the break-up of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce jsou faktory rozpadu Socialistické federativní republiky Jugoslávie. Cílem práce bude provést analýzu faktorů, které vedly k eskalaci násilí a rozpadu této socialistické federace. Pozornost bude věnována zejména faktorům národnostním, náboženským, politickým a ekonomickým, které budou zasazeny do období rostoucího nacionalismu souvisejícího s končícím bipolárním uspořádáním Evropy. V práci bude nejdříve rozebraná historie vzniku Jugoslávie, dále se bude zabývat Jugoslávii v letech 1963 až 1991, její národnostním, náboženským složením, ekonomikou a politikou země. Poslední část bude zaměřena na 80. léta a budou v ní popisovány hlavní faktory, které vedly k rozpadu federace v roce 1991.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the factors of the break-up of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The aim of the thesis will be to analyse the factors that led to the escalation of violence and the break-up of this socialist federation. In particular, attention will be paid to national, religious, political and economic factors, which will be set in a period of growing nationalism related to the ending of the bipolar order in Europe. The thesis will first discuss the history of the formation of Yugoslavia, then it will examine Yugoslavia from 1963 to 1991, its ethnic and religious composition, the economy and the politics of the country. The last section will focus on the 1980s and will describe the main factors that led to the break-up of the federation in 1991.
