Financing Start-ups by Using Venture Capital

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá řešením problému předstartovního a startovního financování podniku využitím fondů venture kapitálu. Po úvodním vymezení základních pojmů v druhé a třetí kapitole jsou v celém dokumentu postupně rozkrývána specifika venture investování z pohledu podnikatele i venture investora. Čtvrtá kapitola je věnována statistickému zhodnocení využití venture a private equity kapitálu v střední Evropě, zejména v Polsku, Maďarsku a České republice. V páté kapitole jsou zmíněny i alternativní možnosti financování, jako je poskytnutí úvěru od banky nebo získání dotací z prostředků fondů EU. Pátá a šestá kapitola jsou úzce zaměřeny na samotný proces získání zdrojů venture kapitálu, průběh financování a nefinanční aspekty vstupu venture kapitálu do podniku. V šesté kapitole jsou formou SWOT analýzy čtenáři předneseny výhody a nevýhody spolupráce s venture investorem, stejně tak jako potenciální možnosti a rizika s ní spojené.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis introduces the seed and start-up funding using the venture capital sources. After the definition of terms in second and third chapter the diploma thesis uncovers step by step the characteristics of venture investments from the enterpreneurs and investors points of view. The forth chapter is dedicated to statistical comparison of venture and private equity capital usage in the middle Europe, especially in Poland, Magyar and Czech republic. In the fifth chapter there are also mentioned the alternative funding possibilities like bank loan or EU structural fund grants. Fifth and sixth chapters focus on the funding process and non-financial aspects of venture capital funding in the enterprise. Sixth chapter includes the SWOT analysis which sums up the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the cooperation with a venture investor.
