High-speed railway train station in Ústí nad Labem and its influence on the area

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce má za cíl poskytnout a zhodnotit přehled vlivů a dopadů, které mohou nastat během a po realizaci projektu vysokorychlostní trati (VRT) Praha - Drážďany a jejího terminálu v Ústí nad Labem. Pokouší se objasnit, jak tento plánovaný terminál VRT ovlivní město Ústí nad Labem a aktivitu některých klíčových aktérů. V rešeršní části práce jsou na základě převážně zahraničních studií a odborné literatury popsány dopady VRT z dopravního, environmentálního a socioekonomického hlediska. Dále je zde definována VRT a aktéři lokálního rozvoje spolu s jejich vlivem v regionu. Empirická část práce se týká výběru klíčových aktérů města Ústí nad Labem, kteří jsou rozděleni do čtyř kategorií (veřejná správa, akademická sféra, podnikatelská a soukromá sféra a neziskový sektor). Následně jsou s aktéry provedeny rozhovory pomocí metody polostrukturovaného rozhovoru ohledně VRT a jejího terminálu v Ústí nad Labem. Rozhovory jsou zaměřeny na vliv VRT a jejího terminálu na město Ústí nad Labem a vybrané klíčové aktéry. Výsledky výzkumu a odpovědi na výzkumné otázky jsou shrnuty v závěru bakalářské práce. Podle výsledků této práce lze očekávat, že nově vystavěný terminál bude mít zásadní význam pro socioekonomický rozvoj regionu, oblast zaměstnanosti, zvýšení přepravní mobility obyvatel a možnému přechodu z individuální automobilové dopravy na VRT.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis aims at offering and evaluating reviews and impacts that can happen during and after the realization of the project of the high-speed railway (HSR) Prague - Dresden and its terminal in Ústí nad Labem. The thesis tries to clarify the impact of HSR on Ústí nad Labem and the activities of some of its key actors. In the theoretical part of the thesis, there are described impacts of HSR from traffic, environmental and socio-economical points of view based on mainly abroad studies and scientific literature. Furthermore, there are defined HSR and actors of local development together with their impact on the region. The empirical part focuses on a selection of key actors of the city of Ústí nad Labem, who are divided into four categories (public administration, academic domain, entrepreneurial and private domain, and non-profit sector). Sequentially, there are interviews made with the actors with a help of a semistructured interview about HSR and its terminal in Ústí nad Labem. Interviews focus on the impact of HSR and its terminal on the city of Ústí nad Labem and chosen key actors. The outcome of the research and answers to the research questions are summarized in the conclusion of the bachelor thesis. According to the results of this thesis, it can be expected, that the newly built terminal will have significant importance for the social-economic development of a region, its employment increase of the transport mobility of the population and possible modal split from individual car transport to HSR.
