Ethnographical (National) Movement in Telč and Dačice in 1890s

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá národopisným hnutím na jihozápadní Moravě (resp. nejzápadnější části moravského Horácka) v devadesátých letech 19. století – tj. v době příprav Národopisné výstavy českoslovanské, která proběhla v Praze v roce 1895. Hlavním cílem práce bylo zachytit konstituování národopisných odborů v Telči a Dačicích v roce 1893, jejich činnost, která vyvrcholila de facto uspořádáním krajinských národopisných výstavek v březnu roku 1895, z nichž byl sesbíraný materiál zaslán do Prahy, aby zde reprezentoval spolu s materiály dalších horáckých odborů tento národopisný region na NVČ. Důležité bylo zachytit formu spolupráce, která mezi oběma odbory probíhala, obdobné problémy, se kterými se setkávaly, ale také rozdílnosti v pojetí sběratelské činnosti a zasadit to vše do širších souvislostí. V neposlední řadě bylo také cílem upozornit na kulturně společenský aspekt národopisného hnutí v devadesátých letech 19. století v tomto regionu, který měl vliv např. na založení muzea v Dačicích v roce 1893, konstituování muzejního spolku v Telči v roce 1897 či rekonstrukci horáckého kroje právě z oblasti Telečska, Dačicka a Třešťska na počátku 20. století.

Abstract:

This major diploma thesis deals with ethnographical (national) movement in southwestern Moravia (or more precisely in westernmost part of Moravian Horácko) in 1890s – i.e. at the time of the preparations for the “National Czechoslavonic Exhibition”, which was hold in Prague in 1895. The main objective of this work is to record the constitution of the ethnographical sections in Telč and Dačice in 1893, their activities which de facto culminated in setting of the regional ethnographical displays in March of 1895. The collected material from the mentioned displays was sent to Prague (together with the material from the other ethnographical sections) to represent the ethnographical region of Horácko at the “National Czechoslavonic Exhibition”. Very important was to describe the form of the cooperation that existed between those two ethnographical sections; than to record the similar problems the sections met during their work and also the distinctness of their collector activities – all those in broader context. Not least to point out the social and cultural ascpect of the ethnographical movement of this region in 1890s that influenced, e. g. the foundation of the museum in Dačice in 1893, the constitution of the museum society in Telč in 1897 and the reconstruction of the folk costume from Horácko, let us say from the regions of Telč, Dačice and Třešť, in the beginning of the 20th century.
