The Presentation of Collections in Contemporary Museum Institution - New Conception of Expositions and Visual System for The Museum of National History in Slaný

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se ve své teoretické části zabývá muzeem jako institucí. Rozebírá pojem muzeum, jeho typologii a odhaluje historii prezentace děl od starověku po současnost. Práce se dále zabývá zpřístupňováním sbírek veřejnosti. Vysvětluje rozdíl mezi výstavou a expozicí, nastiňuje postupy a možnosti muzejní prezentace. Podstatná část práce je věnována Vlastivědnému muzeu ve Slaném. Postupně je popsána historie muzea od jeho založení po současnost, včetně Muzejního spolku a Slánského obzoru, zmíněné jsou i některé významné osobnosti spjaté s muzeem. Součástí práce je výzkumná část, jež hodnotí vztah návštěvníků ke slánskému muzeu. Poslední kapitola pak představuje novou koncepci expozic a vizuálního systému pro toto muzeum.

Abstract:

The presented diploma thesis deals within its theoretical part with museum as an institution, analyses museum as a notion, its typology and reveals the history of art presentation since ancient time till present. Furthermore, the thesis follows up the collection accessibility and availability, explains the difference between presentation and exhibition, reveals steps and options of museum presentation. The main part of dissertation is focused on the Museum of National History in Slaný. Step by step the thesis is aimed at the museum history, its establishment, local politicians and patriots and the museum status of nowadays. The presented thesis contains also a research part, where visitor?s relation to the local museum is analyzed. The last chapter is introducing a new exhibition concept and visual style for the Museum of National History in Slaný.
