The Vampire Recast through Mike Flanagan’s Miniseries “Midnight Mass.”
Abstract:
Cílem této práce je analýza a podrobný popis vyobrazení vampirismu a jeho rysů v minisérii Půlnoční Mše od Mikea Flanagana. Dále je to jeho porovnání s původními mytickými kořeny a historickými vyobrazeními a odhalení jeho paralel a souvislostí s biblickým vyobrazením andělů a Ježíše Krista. Nakonec se tato práce věnuje roli a významu vampirismu v kontextu samotného příběhu.
Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to explain and detail how vampirism and its traits are por-trayed in Mike Flanagan’s Miniseries Midnight Mass and how it compares to the roots of its myth, historical portrayals, how it is connected and parallelized to Bible's por-trayal of angels and Jesus Christ and defining what is its role and meaning in the story itself.
