Contemporary German Trivial Literature from the Perspective of Translation Criticism

Abstract:

This thesis presents a comprehensive translation criticism of the novel Liebe gut eingefädelt by Lilly Schönauer translated by Petr Kyncl. The translation criticism is based on the theoretic model of Katharina Reiss, which is exposed in her work Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Übersetzungskritik. The thesis also includes a definition of the concept and specification of the marks of trivial literature. A part of this work is concerned with the history and the present of women's fiction in the Czech literary context. At the end of the thesis, there is a brief exposition of the publishing houses Egmont and Víkend.

Abstract:

V diplomové práci je provedena hloubková kritika překladu románu Liebe gut eingefädelt od Lilly Schönauer v provedení překladatele Petra Kyncla. Kritika vychází z teoretického modelu Kathariny Reissové, který je přiblížen v díle Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Übersetzungskritik. Práce je rozšířena o vymezení pojmu a určením základních znaků triviální literatury. Část práce se také věnuje historii a současnosti románů pro ženy v českém literárním kontextu. V závěru práce je krátce představeno vydavetelství Egmont a vydavatelství Víkend.
