Satisfaction of women in the postpartum period, with the quality of care in the postpartum department

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem "Problematika edukace žen na oddělení šestinedělí" se zabývá edukací na oddělení šestinedělí. Hlavním cílem práce bylo zhodnotit spokojenost žen s edukací porodní asistentky na oddělení šestinedělí. Mezi dílčí cíle patřilo zjistit, zda byly ženy edukovány v jednotlivých oblastech v období šestinedělí, kojení, hygieny a péče o dítě. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. První část obsahuje teoretická východiska práce a druhá část se zabývá samotným šetřením a výsledky práce. V teoretických východiscích práce je popisována problematika šestinedělí, ve kterém charakterizuji období šestinedělí a jaké změny v šestinedělí probíhají. Další kapitolou je ošetřovatelská péče na oddělení šestinedělí, kde blíže popíšu tuto problematiku. Posléze charakterizuji edukaci jako takovou a edukační proces obecně. Nakonec přiblížím edukační proces v praxi na oddělení šestinedělí. Praktická část obsahuje výsledky a vyhodnocení získaných dat. Pro vypracování praktické části bakalářské práce byla použita metoda kvantitativního průzkumného šetření. K získání a vyhodnocení potřebných dat byla použita metoda anonymního dotazníku. Dotazník byl sestaven na základě stanovených cílů práce. Respondentky byly ženy po porodu na oddělení šestinedělí v nemocnici Žatec. Ty jsem posléze rozdělila během šetření do dvou skupin na primipary a multipary. Závěrem bych shrnula, že výsledky výzkumu byly vesměs pozitivní, ženy udávaly spokojenost s edukačním procesem zdravotnického personálu ve zdravotnickém zařízení. Nejlépe dopadly oblasti kojení a péče o dítě. Nejhůře dopadly oblasti cvičení, legislativa a sexuální život. Práce poukazuje na problematické oblasti edukace v období šestinedělí u žen v závislosti na poporodních změnách. Z výsledků vyplývá důležitost hlavně edukace žen poprvé rodících. Na podkladě výsledků empirické části byl doporučen edukační plán a materiál na oddělení šestinedělí, jaké oblasti jsou důležité pro ženu po porodu s apelem na individualizovanou poskytovanou ošetřovatelskou péči.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis "The issue of women education in a maternity unit" deals with education in the maternity unit. The main objective of the thesis was to evaluate satisfaction of women with education provided by a midwife in the maternity unit. Sub-goals of the thesis included ascertaining whether women were educated in individual areas during the postpartum period, breastfeeding, hygiene and child care. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part encompasses theoretical basis of the thesis and the second part deals with the survey itself and outcomes of the thesis. The theoretical basis of the thesis describes and characterizes the issue of postpartum period and also changes that take place during the postpartum period are dealt with. In the next chapter called nursing care in the maternity unit, this issue is described more closely. Further, I characterize the education as such and educational process in general. Eventually, I deal with the educational process in practice in the maternity unit. The practical part contains results and evaluation of the obtained data. The quantitative research was used to elaborate the practical part of the bachelor thesis. An anonymous questionnaire was used to obtain and evaluate the data needed. The questionnaire was compiled based on the objectives of the thesis. Respondents were women after delivery at the maternity unit in the hospital in Žatec. During the survey, I divided them into two groups on firstborn and multidisciplinary. On the basis of results of the empirical part, an educational plan was recommended to the maternity unit and important areas for women after delivery were stressed. In conclusion, from my point of view, results of the survey were mostly positive. In most areas of education I was focusing on, women were well educated. The most positive results were in areas of breastfeeding and childcare. On the other hand, the worst results were at the areas of exercise, legislation and sex life. As regards the satisfaction of women with information provided in the maternity unit, the women were, with a few exceptions, satisfied. The thesis highlights the problematic areas of education during the postpartum period. The results the importance of mainly education of women's first time parents. On basis of result empirical part was recommended educational schedule and material on the Deparment puerperium, what areas are important for a women after giving birth to appeal for individualized provided nursing.
