Modified polysaccharides and polysaccharide-based biomaterials as a carriers for biologically active compounds

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá možností využití modifikovaných polysacharidů jako přenašečů aktivních látek v kosmetickém a farmaceutickém průmyslu. Cílem práce bylo formou rešerše prezentovat jaké je jejich využití, poukázat na jejich výhody a zmínit nevýhody, které by mohly být překážkou pro uvedení do běžné praxe. Práce také obsahuje shrnutí funkce některých bioaktivních látek používaných v kosmetice (rutin, vitamíny) ale také protinádorových léčiv (cisplatina). Informace byly čerpány především z vědeckých článků publikovaných v různých odborných časopisech. Autoři těchto článků se shodují, že modifikací určitých polysacharidů lze podstatně změnit jejich vlastnosti a dosáhnout velmi zajímavých výsledků, což je dělá velmi zajímavé i pro budoucí výzkumy.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis provides an overview of applications of modified polysaccharides as carriers of active substances in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry. The aim of the work is to summarize their uses, to point out their advantages and to mention disadvantages that could be an obstacle for their practical applications. This work also contains a summary of the function of some bioactive substances used in cosmetics (rutin, vitamins) as well as anticancer drugs (cisplatin). The information was drawn mainly from scientific articles published in various scientific journals. Their authors of these articles agree that by modifying certain polysaccharides their properties can be significantly changed and very interesting results can be obtained, which makes the modified polysaccharides very interesting for future research.
