Causes and economic impacts of intentional weakening of the domestic currency

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá záměrným oslabování domácích měn. Pro zpracování této práce byly vybrány tři ekonomiky, kterými jsou Švýcarsko, Japonsko a Čína. Jsou zkoumány příčiny, průběh a dopady kurzových manipulací na ekonomiku daných zemí, k čemuž je využita metoda grafické analýzy a komparace. V závěru jsou diskutovány výsledky této práce s pracemi ostatních autorů na podobné téma a na základě zjištěných poznatků jsou uvedeny doporučení, které by mohly pozitivně přispět k řešení této otázky.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the intentional devaluation of domestic currencies. Three economies were selected for this work, which are Switzerland, Japan and China. The causes, course and impact of exchange rate manipulations on the economy of the given countries are investigated, for which the method of graphical analysis and comparison method is used. In the end, the results of this work are discussed with the work of other authors on a similar topic and based on the outcomes recommendations that could positively contribute to solving this issue are given.
