This bachelor thesis deals with free representatives of local elites in Moravské Budějovice in years 1880 – 1918 – namely Josef Purcner (the first czech mayor of the city), Eduard Špatinka (initiator of social life) and Jaroslav Palliardi (significant amateur archaeologist).
